MedAire is expanding its infrastructure and services in Germany. Working closely with clients to strengthen its assistance services in the region and partnering with medical training company Medifan, MedAire now offers in-flight and on the ground medical assistance and training to crew’s in native-language German. “In-flight medical situations are already stressful. Enabling flight crew to communicate in their native language provides a level of confidence for the crewmember to calmly care for the passenger.” said Peter Tuggey, Chief Operating Officer. MedAire has offices in Frankfurt, Germany, and Farnborough, UK allowing for a localised account management experience for their clients in Europe. The Frankfurt office, located in the International SOS Assistance Centre, now provides aviation-specific safety services for central European clients. “We have expanded in Germany to offer localized native language solutions for both commercial airlines and business aviation customers, including 24/7 in-flight assistance, on-the-ground crew medical support and travel security services.” said Steven Bates, Managing Director for Europe. The expanded service in Germany adds to the current global footprint, including recent expansion in China, and demonstrates MedAire’s commitment to providing members the highest quality service delivery to its members. Since 2012, International SOS TravelTracker data shows business travel to German destinations has increased 68%1. According to AMSTAT Corporation, business aircraft registered in Germany has also increased by 49% for the same period.2 Expecting this trend to continue, MedAire has replicated its proven assistance platform in the market to better meet the needs of German-speaking clients, pilots and crew with native-language support from doctors who have an excellent understanding of their needs. MedAire is the market leader in providing aviation-specific medical and travel safety assistance and has over 30 years of experience managing in-flight emergencies, providing services to over 150 commercial airlines and 75% of the Fortune 100 Flight Departments. MedAire’s primary Aviation Assistance Centre is based in a level 1 Trauma Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, and handles over 200,000 calls per year from clients across the globe. The new service in Germany adds to the current global footprint, including recent expansion in China.
