Aircraft First Aid Kit

The Aircraft First Aid Kit is engineered to help business and general aviation operators deal with medical emergencies that commonly occur in the aviation environment.  The kit is designed and updated based on the MedLink Global Response Center’s experience in managing thousands of in-flight medical incidents.  Supplies are separated into color-coded, see-through pouches that are easily removable for quick identification and utilization of materials during emergency situations.

The Aircraft First Aid Kit meets or exceeds Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 91, 121 and 135 Section and Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR) 1.745 and complies with OSHA’s blood-borne pathogens standard.  The kit is approximately 11 x 11 x 6 inches and weighs about 8 pounds.  Content  listings are located inside and outside of the kit with an exterior label noting the annual expiration date.

Emergency Medical Kit

Designed to supplement MedAire’s Aircraft First Aid Kit, the Emergency Medical Kit is specially designed to meet the needs of passengers and crew traveling to areas where medical supplies are absent, inadequate, or where there is a risk for severe illness or injury.  The kit contains many critical care supplies such as trauma and burn dressings, antiseptic scrubs, sterile instruments, syringes and sutures – all of which can be helpful in any environment.  Additionally, prescription antibiotics and antihistamines are incorporated, which are used for a variety of non-life threatening illnesses, but are not always carried by crew and/or passengers.

Due to the prescriptive contents, the Emergency Medical Kit can only be used at the express instruction of a physician at MedAire’s MedLink Global Response Center.  The contents exceed FAR Section 121.803(c).  The kit is approximately 17 x 16 x 7 inches and weighs approximately 11 pounds.  Content listings are  located inside and outside of the kit with an exterior label noting the annual expiration date.

The preventive kit can assist at least one ill person and their caregiver over the course of 2-3 days, or several people during the course of one day. Supplies include masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, thermometer strips, germicidal wipes and useful disease prevention tips.
