MedAire's
aviation medical kits are designed by emergency response
professionals and built specifically for inflight use.
All kits meet and exceed
regulatory requirements regarding overall content and packaging
and can be customized to specific needs. Airlines manage the
lifecycle of their kits through MedAire's refurbishment program
that ensure kits are always current and always available.

Passenger Transfer Equipment
(under ACAA’s 14 CFR Part 382)
MedAire’s Personal Transfer Kit and Movable Disc Board help facilitate safe passenger transfers to/from wheelchairs, onboard aisle chairs and passenger seats in tight or awkward transfer scenarios.
The right passenger transfer equipment may assist with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) “equivalent alternative” proposals to some aircraft movable armrest requirements, while MedAire’s comprehensive equipment and training solutions may help affected airlines comply with the U.S. Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) 14 CFR Part 382 (Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability in Air Travel).
Along with minimizing potentially painful or embarrassing passenger physical contact, passenger transfer equipment oftentimes decreases the chances of injury to assisting personnel.
Personal Transfer Kit Slide board
This kit is used to assist non-ambulatory or semi-ambulatory passengers from a personal wheelchair to an aisle chair, an aisle chair to an aircraft seat or an aircraft seat to an onboard wheelchair. Its carrying case is available with a burn-certified onboard storage case or a non-certified case for storage at the gate.
The Personal Transfer Kit comes with three components:
1. Slide board (Can be used with the transfer belt or sling)
- Helps crew transfer—or slide—a passenger from one seat to another
- Is beveled on the ends and has a handle for easy removal once the transfer is complete
2. Transfer belt (Can be used with the slide board)
- Fastens around the passenger’s waist to slide him/her
from one surface to another Transfer belt
- Comes with convenient grip handles
3. Transfer sling
- Facilitates the transfer of passengers with limited mobility
- Placed behind the passenger and under his/her legs, whileassistants grasp strategically placed handles to lift and move the passenger from one surface to another
- Cradles the passenger and more effectively distributes
the load for assistants Transfer sling
- Displays easy-to-understand instructions and is
designed for easy cleaning
Movable Disc Board
The portable Movable Disc Board permits an assistant to easily transfer a passenger from seat to seat by sliding him/her across a platform.
- Contains a circular disc—or “seat”—that moves without friction across the grooved board to take the passenger from one seat to another
- Reduces the opportunity for assistant injury because the board carries the passenger’s weight and minimizes lifting
- Is ideal for cabins with herringbone seat configurations or some aircraft seats lacking a movable armrest for lateral transfers
- Comes with zippered fabric bag that is not burn resistant.
- Can be used with the transfer sling from the Personal Transfer Kit to assist a passenger from an aisle chair to an aircraft seat
